Data Communication:-

• Data Communication is communication of information in whatever form.
• The devices can communicate through number of links which are known as connections.
• There are two types of connection, 1) Point to Point Connection. 2)Multi-Point Connection
• 1. Point to Point Connection:- A dedicated link if form between two devices and the capacity of these devices is shared between them and not shared with others devices. Hence, the Band width is wasted but it provides security and privacy.
• Example:- TV Remote, Line of Sight Propagation etc.

2. Multi-Point Connection:-

• The link is shared between number of devices. Hence, Band width is utilized but security is less.
• If all devices will communicate all together then there will chances of congestion.
• Example:- Landline phones, Radio Broadcasting etc.
