#Advantages of Semiconductor Devices:-

* As semiconductor devices have no filaments, hence no power needed to heat them to cause emission of electrons. During operation, semiconductor devices do not produce any humming noise. Semiconductor devices requires low voltage operation as compared to vacuum tubes.

*Semiconductor devices manufactured both as single discrete devices and as integrated circuits (ICs), which consist of a number of two billions of devices manufactured and connected on a single semiconductor substrate, or wafer.

*Power semiconductor devices are discrete devices or integrated circuits intended for “high current or high voltage” applications. Power integrated circuits combine IC technology with power semiconductor technology.
